Flaxseed oil, often called linseed oil in pharma labels, is pressed from flax seeds and is a plant source of omega fatty acids. It is sold as a nutrition supplement and also used as a base ingredient in many pain relief gels.
The supplement side reaches physicians, cardiologists and vegetarian customers looking for a plant based omega product. The gel side is driven by orthopaedic doctors, physiotherapists and chemists who sell topical pain products every day.
Two Kinds of Listings: Softgels and Pain Gels
Soft gelatin capsules and capsules make up the nutrition listings, with a few tablets. The ointment, cream and gel listings come from pain relief products, which is why the usual partners here are analgesics:
- Menthol, for the cooling effect in gels
- Diclofenac in topical pain gels
- Thiocolchicoside, a muscle relaxant used in some gels and sprays
- Etoricoxib in a few combinations
A few injection entries also appear under this group in company ranges.
Deciding Which Franchise Fits Your Area
Decide first which side you want to work. For softgels, see whether the company also offers fish oil, coenzyme products and multivitamins. For gels, check the ortho range of tablets, sprays and calcium products. Compare PTR and margin for each line. Clarify whether monopoly covers both nutraceutical and drug products. Inspect softgel shine, odour and blister quality, and gel tube finish. Read the expiry return policy, since oils can turn rancid if stored badly, and ask what samples and visual aids come with the range.
Briefing a Plant for Flaxseed Oil Products
For softgels, specify the oil grade, fill quantity, shell type, blister or bottle pack and the label claims you want to print. For gels, give the full formula, tube size and carton design. Ask for the minimum order quantity in each case. Request peroxide value and stability data for oil products, and assay results for medicated gels. Confirm whether the product falls under an FSSAI licence or a drug manufacturing licence, and collect the relevant licence copy.
