Frequently asked questions
What does monopoly rights mean in a PCD franchise?
The company agrees not to appoint another franchise partner for the same range in your area. Get the area (district, towns or pin codes) written into the agreement — a verbal promise is not enough.
What are PTR, PTS and MRP?
MRP is the maximum retail price printed on the pack. PTR (price to retailer) is what a chemist pays, and PTS (price to stockist) is what a stockist pays. Your margin as a franchise partner is the gap between the rate you buy at and the PTR or PTS you sell at.
Can I start a franchise without a drug licence?
You need a wholesale drug licence to stock and sell medicines. Many companies will discuss terms while your licence is being processed, but they can only bill you once it is issued.
How do I choose between two companies?
Compare the product list against what doctors in your area actually prescribe, check where the products are manufactured, ask for the first-order size and promotional support, and speak to one or two existing partners if the company will share contacts.
How do I list my company?
Create a free listing from the “List your company” page. Our team reviews it, usually within a working day. Uploading your drug licence and GST certificate earns the “Documents verified” badge.
Why was my company or product not approved?
The reason is shown in your dashboard. Common ones are missing licence details, compositions that do not match the label, or claims that a product treats conditions it is not approved for. Fix the item and save — it comes back to us for review.
