Meropenem belongs to the carbapenem group of antibiotics. It is given by injection, usually in hospitals, for serious bacterial infections where other antibiotics may not work. Doctors treat it as a reserve medicine and hospital antibiotic policies often control its use.
Intensivists, physicians, general surgeons and infectious disease specialists prescribe it, mainly in ICUs, high dependency units and surgical wards. Sales run through hospital pharmacies, nursing homes and critical care stockists rather than retail chemists, so hospital relationships decide volumes.

Ask for sterility and endotoxin test reports, stability data and certificates of analysis for every batch. Confirm product permission for the exact combination. The plant should hold a valid manufacturing licence and follow Schedule M GMP, and you need a drug licence and GST registration.
